The Story of "Green Card Wedding"
Plot:
Everyone wants the American dream. Frank (Farook), a 25 year old Middle Eastern immigrant, is no different. One night Frank decides to take a break from studying for his citizenship exam by going to an Arabic party to find love. Things don’t turn out the way he imagined, however. Rather than find love, he runs into the hefty price he’d paid to get into America – his wife "Lubna!!!!"
The agreement was simple; he pays her to marry him, he gets a green card, and then it is goodbye forever. But she wants more. For Frank, having a “real” relationship with this Lubna is out of the question. She’s heavy, obnoxious, divorced with three children, and twenty years his senior. Throughout the party, hilarious encounters occur that lead Frank to replay the events that happened back home – where he married Lubna. These encounters also help him, in the end, to make decisions about his future in the land of dreams and opportunity, America!
Logline:
A Middle Eastern man tries to pick up a girl at a party when he runs into the hefty price he’d paid to get into America – his wife.
